Can you run Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord?
By Cliff Henjum March 30, 2020
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord just launched into Early Access on Steam with the biggest launch in 2020! The Action RPG/Strategy sandbox game by Taleworlds is grabbing the attention of old fans and new ones alike. The campaign acts as a prequel to the original Mount and Blade: Warband which takes place on Calradia 210 years afterwards. Calradia is a fictional medieval world where you will battle against armies with swords, spears, bows, and plenty of other weapons to match your style. Since the game is still in Early Access, the official system requirements may be altered a bit on release, but for now, it looks to be quite CPU intensive. If you want to run Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord on your computer, it will need to at least pass the minimum system requirements test.
The minimum system requirements for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord are a decent amount higher than similar games like Total War: Three Kingdoms or Warcraft 3 Reforged. This is most likely due to the scope of the game as well as the unique combination of different game genres. Not only will you lead hundreds of your troops into battle as their commander, you will also take part in the battles on a more personal level as one of your soldiers. Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is actually one of the few games to officially support a level of integrated GPUs! In order to run the game on at least Low settings, Taleworlds believes you’ll need at least a GeForce GTX 660, or a Radeon HD 7850, or an Intel UHD Graphics 630 for your GPU/video card. While the video card requirement is pretty average for modern games, the CPU requirement will make even some new computers tremble. Your CPU should be at least an Intel Core i3-8100 or an AMD Ryzen 3 1200. Your PC should also have 6 GB of RAM which is a bit higher than normal.
Playing Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord on max graphics settings requires a very beefy PC. The recommended system requirements are extremely CPU intensive and still require a fairly decent and modern video card. They are even higher than other newly released games like Doom Eternal and Call of Duty: Warzone. Specifically, for your CPU, you are looking at needing at least an Intel Core i5-9600K or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X. And for your GPU, you will need at least a GeForce GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 580. Lastly, don’t forget about the RAM requirement of 8 GB. The RAM and GPU requirements are fairly run-of-the-mill when looking at other new games, but the CPU requirement is what will trip up most people.
